The Roslyn in the hamlet’s name is shared with Roslyn, Roslyn Estates and Roslyn Harbor. As an unincorporated part of the Town of North Hempstead, the hamlet is directly governed by the town’s government in Manhasset.

Property taxes: who bills and collects
The Town of North Hempstead’s Office of the Receiver of Taxes bills and collects all Town, County, School and Special District taxes within the town. The Receiver of Taxes is an elected position. The first half of the 2026-2027 school tax is due November 10 in the town. See the Receiver of Taxes page for current bills.
New owners register for the STAR credit with the NYS Tax Department as soon as the home becomes their primary residence, and the Basic or Enhanced credit follows from what they qualify for. The STAR exemption is closed to new applicants: owners who have received it since 2015 keep it on the same primary residence. The home must be the primary residence of an eligible owner. The Basic STAR credit has a $500,000 income limit, and the benefit is based on the first $30,000 of a home’s full value. Enhanced STAR gives owners 65 and older a larger benefit, with an income limit of $110,750 for the 2026-2027 school year. For county-wide mechanics, see Nassau County property taxes.
Commuting from Roslyn Heights by LIRR

Water, sewers and drainage
Water service depends on where the house sits. The portion of Roslyn Heights north of the Northern State Parkway is in the Roslyn Water District. The area between the Northern State Parkway and the Wheatley Hills Golf Club is in the Albertson Water District. Roslyn Heights is partially sewered. The southern part of the hamlet is within the Nassau County Sewage District, and the remainder relies on cesspools and septic systems.
